Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

What materials is the Bergatreute Pendant Light made of?

Iron frame and frosted glass globes. The iron is finished in matte black or gold; the frosted glass diffuses the light source from within each globe. No synthetic shades or plastic hardware used.

What type of light bulb does it use?

G9 LEDs — two included, one per globe. G9 is a widely available base, so replacement bulbs are easy to source at any hardware store when they eventually need changing.

Is the brightness adjustable?

Dimming is available on request — specify at the time of order and we'll configure the fixture. A compatible dimmer switch in the circuit is required for the dimming to function correctly.

How many globes are included in the design?

Two — one at each end of the iron arch. Each contains a replaceable G9 LED. Total output is 10W (1000lm), spread across two softly diffused sources for even ambient light.

Where can this light be installed?

Dining rooms, bedrooms, and living rooms are the most natural fit — anywhere the balanced arch can be seen from below. Avoid very low ceilings where the 60cm drop would bring globes too close to head height.

Is professional installation required?

Yes — the Bergatreute is hardwired via a pipe-erected fitting. A certified electrician is recommended for safe wiring and secure ceiling mounting. Hardware is included.

How do I clean and maintain this light?

Wipe the iron frame with a dry cloth. Clean the frosted glass globes with a soft, slightly damp cloth — avoid abrasives that could scratch the frosted finish and alter how the light reads.

Is the height of the light adjustable?
