Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

Frosted glass — a glow without a visible source

Clear glass shows the bulb. Frosted glass hides it — so what you see is the globe itself glowing, not the filament inside. The Attic uses this to give a very simple form something it wouldn't have with clear glass: softness. The E27 LED inside diffuses evenly across the frosted surface, spreading a calm, even glow in all directions without a bright centre point.

When will my order be shipped?

Orders are dispatched within 1–3 business days. Delivery worldwide typically takes 15–21 business days. You'll receive a tracking number as soon as the order leaves our warehouse.

Is professional installation required?

We recommend it. The Attic is hardwired — connecting to your mains wiring is a job for a certified electrician. The hardware is straightforward; the electrical connection is not a DIY task in most jurisdictions.

What materials are used in the fixture?

The pendant body is copper with a gold finish. The shade is frosted glass — smooth on the outside, with a diffusing layer that turns the E27 LED into a soft, even glow across the globe's full surface.

How do I adjust the cord length?

The cord adjusts up to 2 m from the ceiling canopy. Excess cord folds neatly inside the canopy housing — no cutting required. Set the drop at installation and it holds without slipping.

Does it include all necessary mounting hardware?

Yes — the canopy, cord, and all ceiling-mounting hardware are included. The E27 LED bulb is also included; you'll have everything needed for installation from the box.

Is the light temperature adjustable?

Not built in — but because it uses a standard E27 base, you can choose your preferred colour temperature by selecting a different replacement bulb. Warm white (2700–3000K) suits most living spaces.

How long do the LEDs last?

The included E27 LED is rated for 50,000 hours — roughly 17 years at 8 hours per day. When it eventually needs replacing, any standard E27 bulb fits without modification.

Is the fixture compatible with dimmer switches?

Dimming is available on request — let us know when ordering. A dimmable E27 LED paired with a compatible wall dimmer works well once the fixture is configured for it.

What is the return policy?

We offer 14-day returns from the date of delivery. The item should be in its original, unused condition and packaging. Contact our team to start the process and we'll guide you through it.

Are there any warranties offered?

Yes — a 1-year warranty is included as standard, covering manufacturing defects and electrical faults. Extended options (2, 3, or 5 years) are available; ask our team to add this before or after your purchase.
