Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

Is the fixture suitable for historical homes?

Yes — the cut-crystal shade and brushed brass frame read equally well in period rooms and contemporary spaces. The compact 12 cm diameter keeps the scale appropriate for rooms with lower ceilings or ornate mouldings.

What materials are used in the construction?

The shade is precision-cut crystal. The frame and canopy are solid brass — available in brushed and polished finishes. No plastic structural parts.

How does the installation process work?

Hardwired to a standard ceiling junction box via the adjustable cord. It can also be socket-mounted using the included bracket. Professional installation by a certified electrician is recommended — all hardware is included.

Is the height adjustable?

Yes — the cord extends up to 6.6 ft (2 m) and can be shortened to suit your ceiling height. Adjustment is done at installation before the canopy is fixed.

What type of lighting technology is used?

A single GU10 LED bulb (5W, 500 lm, included). LEDs distribute light evenly through the crystal facets without generating excessive heat, which protects the material over time.

How long do the LEDs last?

The included bulb is rated at 50,000 hours — roughly 17 years at eight hours a day. When it eventually goes, a standard GU10 replacement drops straight in.

Is the fixture temperature and fade-resistant?

Yes — the brass frame and crystal shade are both stable under normal indoor temperature. The finish won't fade from heat or UV exposure in regular conditions.

Can it be mounted on any ceiling or surface?

It's designed for standard flat ceilings and is sloped-ceiling compatible. Wall-bracket mounting is also possible using the included bracket.

Does it come with all necessary mounting hardware?

Yes — the canopy, ceiling bracket, cord, and GU10 LED bulb are all included. A junction box is required at the ceiling; professional installation is recommended.
