Installation Guide

Most wall lamps are a simple bracket-and-wire job — but check your power type first, since hardwired, plug-in, and rechargeable models each install a little differently.

Before you begin

  • Dimming — most socketed lamps dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Power — hardwired, plug-in, or rechargeable depending on the model; check your product details
  • Mounting — wall-mount, hardware included
  • Indoor/outdoor — confirm your model is rated for outdoor use before installing outside

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver
  • Wire nuts (included for hardwired models)
  • Voltage tester
  • Power drill (for new mounting locations)

Step by step

  1. Identify your power type — hardwired, plug-in, or rechargeable. Follow the steps below for yours.
  2. If hardwired: turn off the power — switch off at your main electrical panel and confirm with a voltage tester.
  3. If hardwired: remove the old lamp — unscrew it and disconnect the wires by removing the wire nuts.
  4. If hardwired: attach the new mounting bracket — align it with your junction box or marked wall location and secure with the included screws.
  5. If hardwired: connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Twist and secure with wire nuts, then tuck neatly into the junction box.
  6. If hardwired: mount the fixture — align with the bracket and secure with the provided screws.
  7. If hardwired: install the bulb — correct type and wattage, if your model uses one.
  8. If hardwired: restore power and test.
  9. If plug-in: mount the bracket — with anchors or screws, then attach the fixture and plug it into a nearby outlet. Route the cord neatly.
  10. If rechargeable: mount the bracket — with screws and anchors, fully charge the lamp with the included cable, then install it onto the bracket and power on.

Nava ships worldwide free of charge. Delivery typically takes 15–21 business days. You'll receive a tracking link once your order is on its way.

Is installation hardware included?

Yes — screws and wall anchors for the backplate are included. The hardwired connection to your mains should be made by a certified electrician.

How do I install it?

Screw the wood backplate to the wall with the included fixings, connect to your mains wiring (use a licensed electrician), then fit the shade and angle it as needed.

What is the return policy?

Nava offers a 14-day return window. If the lamp doesn't suit your space, contact us within 14 days of delivery and we'll arrange the return.

Is it compatible with dimmer switches?

Dimmable on request — let us know before ordering and we'll configure the GU10 fitting for dimmer compatibility. Works with standard wall dimmers when set up this way.

How long do the LEDs last?

The GU10 LED included is rated at 50,000+ hours. When it eventually dims, any compatible GU10 replacement will fit — no specialist parts needed.

Is the paint non-toxic?

Yes — the finish is non-toxic and temperature-resistant, so it won't discolour or fade near the warmth of the bulb over time.

Does it come with a warranty?

One year standard warranty, extendable to 2, 3, or 5 years. Contact us at purchase to add extended coverage.

What type of maintenance is required?

Wipe the wood backplate with a dry or barely damp cloth. The metal shade can be wiped clean with a dry cloth — avoid harsh cleaners on the painted finish.

How energy-efficient is it?

The included GU10 LED draws 5W for 500 lumens — efficient for a bedside or accent reading light. Running eight hours a day costs only a few euros per year in electricity.
