Installation Guide

A close-to-ceiling install for low-clearance rooms — power off, mount the bracket, match the wires, done.

Before you begin

Mounting — direct to a standard ceiling junction box; sits close against the ceiling
Dimming — most socketed models dim; integrated-LED models don't
Ceilings — flat ceilings only; for vaulted or sloped ceilings, look at semi-flush or pendant options instead
Power — hardwired to your home's electrical system

What you'll need

Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
Wire nuts (included), ladder
Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

Turn off the power — shut it off at the breaker panel and confirm with a voltage tester.
Remove the fixture cover — twist or unclip the outer shade or base cover to expose the mounting plate and wiring.
Install the mounting bracket — attach it to the ceiling junction box with the supplied screws, secure and level.
Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the junction box.
Attach the fixture base — lift into place, align with the bracket, and secure with the provided screws so it sits flush against the ceiling.
Reattach the cover — twist, clip, or fasten the decorative cover or diffuser back on.
Restore power and test.

The Hatch uses a full-face acrylic diffuser — the LED array sits behind the entire surface, not concentrated at a point. The result is even illumination across the disc with no visible hotspot, gradient, or ring effect. What you see is a clean, uniform circle of light.

What materials are used in the construction?

Acrylic diffuser in an iron ring — the acrylic is the face you see, the iron forms the frame and backplate. Both are finished in black, gold, or white.

How do I install it on the wall or ceiling?

The Hatch hardwires to a standard junction box and includes mounting brackets for both ceiling and wall installation. We recommend a certified electrician for the wiring.

Is it energy-efficient?

Yes — integrated LED across the range, from 18W to 48W depending on size and wattage option. Significantly lower energy draw than equivalent fluorescent or incandescent fittings.

How long do the LEDs last?

The integrated LED is rated to 50,000 hours — that's over a decade at typical residential use. No bulb to replace during that time.

What finishes are available?

Three — black, gold, and white. All three are applied to the iron ring frame; the acrylic diffuser face remains clear and even in tone across all finishes.

Does it come with mounting brackets?

Yes — brackets for both ceiling and wall mounting are included in the box. No additional hardware purchase needed.

Can it be plugged into a standard electrical socket?

The Hatch is hardwired to a junction box rather than plug-in. This is a permanent installation — plan accordingly and have an electrician handle the wiring.

Is it resistant to corrosion and scratches?

Yes — the iron frame has a corrosion-resistant finish, and the acrylic face is treated for scratch resistance. Suitable for bathrooms (dry zones) and high-use areas.

What rooms is it best suited for?

Bedrooms, living rooms, hallways, and bathrooms (dry zones) — anywhere a clean ceiling or wall disc light works. The circular form reads well as a solo feature or repeated in a row.
