Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

What is the Dronninglund made from?

The body is aluminium and iron — slim, lightweight, and built to resist everyday wear. The finish — brass or matte black — is applied to the aluminium cylinder and the canopy.

Single or double head — how do I choose?

One head suits a tight accent zone — a small island, a side table, a reading nook. Two heads work better over a longer surface, spreading coverage without needing a second fixture point.

What bulbs does the Dronninglund use?

GU10 LED, included. GU10 is a standard base widely available in hardware stores — replacement is straightforward and inexpensive whenever a bulb eventually needs changing.

Is it dimmable?

No in its standard form. If dimming is important, contact us before ordering — we can advise on compatible GU10 dimmer bulbs and whether the fixture can be configured for a wall dimmer circuit.

What finishes are available?

Brass and matte black. Brass pairs well with warm-toned or natural-material interiors; matte black suits neutral, industrial, or minimalist palettes.

How long is the cord and can I adjust it?

The cord adjusts to a maximum drop of 1.5 m (4.9 ft). Set it at the ceiling during installation — the excess cord tucks neatly inside the canopy, leaving a clean finish.

Can it go on a sloped ceiling?

Sloped-ceiling compatibility is available on request. Specify at checkout and we will include the appropriate canopy hardware to allow a level hang on an angled ceiling.

Where does this pendant work best?

Over kitchen islands, dining tables, bedside positions, or any zone where a focused overhead light is preferred over ambient fill. The directional GU10 beam suits task-oriented spaces well.

What is the warranty?
