Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

Travertine is a sedimentary limestone — its surface pores and striations catch the light rather than reflecting it cleanly, so the cylinder glows along its edges as well as beneath it. The frosted glass diffuser inside keeps the E27 source invisible. No two travertine cylinders are identical; the natural variation is part of what the fixture gives a room.

Standard E27 base — the most widely available lamp format. Use any E27 LED at up to 15W. Choose 2700K for warmth or 3000K for a cleaner white; the frosted glass softens either.

Is the bulb included with the pendant light?

Yes — an E27 LED bulb is included in the box. It's replaceable when the time comes; no specialist part, just a standard E27 from any hardware store.

What is the voltage range for this pendant light?

90–260V — covers all household voltages worldwide. The fitting is hardwired, so no adapter is needed; it connects to your local supply via the ceiling junction box.

Can the hanging height be adjusted?

The cord length is fixed at 1.2 m from the ceiling. If a different drop is needed, contact Nava at the time of order and we can configure a custom length. Sloped-ceiling canopies are also available on request.

Yes — natural travertine is never perfectly uniform. Each cylinder has its own pattern of pores, veins, and surface tone. The variation is part of the material's character; no two Gyvel pendants are exactly alike.
