Step by step

  3. Connect the power source — plug corded models into a nearby (weather-protected, if outdoors) outlet; insert batteries into the compartment for battery-powered models; position solar panels in direct sunlight for the initial charge.
  4. Install or check the bulb — screw it in gently and don't exceed the socket's max wattage. Integrated LED models skip this step.
  5. Turn on and adjust — use the switch, touch sensor, or remote to power it on, and adjust brightness or modes if your model supports it. Solar or motion-activated lamps may need a full charge cycle first.

Hand-crafted glass shades are not uniform — the thickness varies slightly across the surface, which means the light passing through shifts in warmth and intensity as it enters the room. The iron stem holds the shade at 155 cm: high enough to light a reading chair, low enough to stay out of the sightline from the sofa.
