Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

Is installation hardware included?

Yes — the Gambrel ships with all mounting hardware, including the canopy, adjustable cord, and junction box adapter. A certified electrician is recommended for the hardwired connection.

What is the return policy?

Nava Decor offers a 14-day return window from the date of delivery. Items must be in original, undamaged condition. Contact us within that window and we'll arrange collection or exchange.

How do I adjust the wire length?

The cord adjusts up to 1.5 m from the ceiling. Excess cord is coiled inside the canopy at installation — your electrician can set the final drop height before securing the canopy plate.

Are the LEDs replaceable?

No — the LED is integrated into the shade and sealed. However, the LED is rated for 50,000+ hours, so replacement is not expected to be necessary for many years of normal use.

What type of light modes are available?

Three: warm white, natural white, and cool white. These allow you to shift the ambient tone — warm for evenings and living areas, natural for tasks, cool for accent or feature lighting.

Is the paint non-toxic?

Yes — the aluminium collar is finished with a non-toxic, food-safe lacquer. The alabaster marble is natural stone and requires no surface treatment.

How energy-efficient is the light?

The integrated LED draws between 5W and 10W depending on the size — a fraction of incandescent equivalents — with a lifespan of 50,000+ hours. The wide 90–260V range avoids the need for transformers in most countries.

Is the fixture suitable for modern decor?

Yes — the combination of natural stone and minimal aluminium collar suits contemporary, Japandi, and Scandinavian interiors particularly well. The black collar version works in bolder, more graphic rooms.

How do I mount the light?

The canopy attaches to a standard ceiling junction box. Thread the cord through the canopy, connect to the junction box wiring, and adjust the drop to your desired height. Professional installation by a certified electrician is recommended.
