Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

Is installation hardware included?

Yes — canopy, mounting bracket, and all ceiling hardware are included. The Fstop mounts to any standard junction box. Professional installation by a certified electrician is recommended.

What materials are used in the lamp body?

The shade is cast resin with a moulded coral-grain relief. The fitting and hardware are metal. The resin is lightweight and durable — resistant to fading and everyday wear.

Can it be used with dimmable bulbs?

Dimmable configuration is available on request — let us know when ordering. A compatible E27 dimmable LED and a wall dimmer switch are needed at your end.

Is it compatible with smart home systems?

Yes — the standard E27 socket accepts most smart bulbs. Pair with any E27-format smart bulb to connect it to your home system.

Are the colors true to the pictures?

The five finishes are fired to the resin for consistent tone. Screen calibration can shift perception slightly, but the colours are stable and don't fade with age or light exposure.

How do I clean and maintain it?

Wipe with a dry or lightly damp cloth. The textured surface can be cleared with a soft brush. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents — they can dull the finish.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

No — the Fstop is designed for indoor use only. It is not weather-sealed. Use it in dry interior spaces only.

What kind of ceiling can it be mounted on?

Standard flat ceilings with a junction box, plus sloped ceilings — the Fstop is sloped-ceiling compatible out of the box. No additional adaptor required.

What is the return policy?
