Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

Each globe is blown and frosted, so the G4 LED inside disappears behind a milky surface that diffuses its output into a consistent sphere of light. The copper arms hold them steady at a fixed 20 cm drop from the ceiling plate. What is it made of?

Frosted glass globes on a copper frame — the glass is sealed and frosted to diffuse each LED, the copper arms are finished in clear or white.

How is the glow?

Soft and distributed — frosted glass eliminates glare and spreads each LED into a smooth sphere of warm light. No visible filament, no bright point.

Can it be dimmed?

No — the Frickenhausen Chandelier operates at fixed output. It provides a consistent, even brightness suited to ambient dining and living room use.

Are the bulbs replaceable?

Yes — G4 LED bulbs are included and can be replaced individually. Standard G4 LEDs from most hardware stores are compatible.

What configurations are available?

4-head in two footprint sizes (50 cm or 45 cm wide) and 6-head at 55 cm wide. All three have the same copper frame and frosted globe aesthetic.

Is it suitable for a sloped ceiling?

No — the pipe erection mounting is designed for flat ceilings. The 20 cm drop is fixed and not adjustable for angled installations.

What voltage range does it support?

90–260V — wide voltage range, compatible with standard residential wiring in most countries.

Where does it work best?

Over a dining table or kitchen island for the 6-head; in a living room or bedroom for the smaller 4-head configurations. Ceiling height of 2.4 m or above is recommended.

How long is the warranty?
