Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

What is the shipping timeframe?

Nava Decor ships free worldwide, with delivery typically in 15–21 business days. Orders to major metro areas often arrive toward the shorter end of that range. You'll receive tracking once your order dispatches.

Is installation hardware included?

Yes — the canopy, mounting bracket, and junction box hardware are all included. A certified electrician is recommended for the hardwired connection to your ceiling, but everything needed to complete the install is in the box.

How adjustable is the height?

The retractable PVC spring cord extends up to 1.5 m and retracts smoothly without tools. Pull the shade to the height you want and the cord holds at tension — no clips or clamps required.

Is the light temperature adjustable?

The fixture itself has a fixed E27 socket — not adjustable electronically. You can control warmth by choosing the colour temperature of your E27 LED bulb (2700K for warm, 4000K for neutral, or anything between).

What materials are used in construction?

The shade is acrylic with a glossy cream finish, set on an iron frame. The combination keeps weight low while resisting heat and fade — the finish holds its tone well over years of daily use.

How do I clean the fixture?

Wipe the acrylic globe with a soft damp cloth. Avoid abrasives or solvent cleaners — they can cloud the glossy finish. Dust the iron frame and canopy with a dry cloth as needed.

Is the light dimmable?

The Benfeld is not equipped for dimming at the fixture level. To dim, use a compatible dimmable E27 LED bulb with a wall dimmer rated for LED loads — check the bulb and dimmer compatibility before pairing.

What is the warranty period?

All Nava Decor products include a 1-year warranty covering manufacturing defects, with options to extend to 2, 3, or 5 years. Contact us after purchase to arrange an extension.

Can it be used outdoors?

No — the Benfeld is for indoor use only. The acrylic globe and iron frame are not sealed against moisture, rain, or outdoor temperature swings.

How energy-efficient is the light?

With a 15W E27 LED (not included), the fixture draws less than a standard incandescent at a fraction of the running cost. The LED rated for 50,000 hours means years of daily use before any replacement is needed.
