Installation Guide

A close-to-ceiling install for low-clearance rooms — power off, mount the bracket, match the wires, done.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — direct to a standard ceiling junction box; sits close against the ceiling
  • Dimming — most socketed models dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Ceilings — flat ceilings only; for vaulted or sloped ceilings, look at semi-flush or pendant options instead
  • Power — hardwired to your home's electrical system

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — shut it off at the breaker panel and confirm with a voltage tester.
  2. Remove the fixture cover — twist or unclip the outer shade or base cover to expose the mounting plate and wiring.
  3. Install the mounting bracket — attach it to the ceiling junction box with the supplied screws, secure and level.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the junction box.
  5. Attach the fixture base — lift into place, align with the bracket, and secure with the provided screws so it sits flush against the ceiling.
  6. Reattach the cover — twist, clip, or fasten the decorative cover or diffuser back on.
  7. Restore power and test.

What is the Genner Ceiling Light made of?

The body is aluminium — lightweight, durable, and resistant to warping. The matte finish (black or white) is applied to resist minor marks and keep its appearance without special cleaning.

Does it come with an integrated LED?

Yes — the LED is built into the fixture and included at no extra cost. It delivers 18W and 1980 lm of even, diffused light. Nothing to buy separately, nothing to replace for tens of thousands of hours.

What colours are available?

Matte black and white. Both work across a wide range of interiors — black reads as a deliberate accent, white integrates into pale ceilings almost invisibly.

Can it be used in commercial spaces?

Yes. The even 1980 lm output and flush profile suit offices, retail environments, hallways, and kitchens, as well as residential spaces. The wide voltage range (90–260V) covers most international installations.

Is it suitable for all ceiling types?

It mounts to standard junction boxes and is rated sloped-ceiling compatible, so it works on both flat and angled surfaces. Professional installation by a certified electrician is recommended.

What sizes are available?

Two diameters: 10.5 cm (compact — bathrooms, hallways, small studies) and 15.5 cm (general living areas, kitchens, offices). Both share the same 5.5 cm depth and 18W output.

Is it dimmable?

Can it be used outdoors?

No — the Genner is rated for indoor use only. For outdoor flush-mount options, please contact us and we can advise on appropriate IP-rated alternatives.

How energy-efficient is it?

The integrated LED draws 18W and produces 1980 lm — roughly equivalent to a 150W incandescent output. The LED is rated for 50,000+ hours of use, so energy costs and replacement frequency are both minimal.
