Installation Guide

A close-to-ceiling install for low-clearance rooms — power off, mount the bracket, match the wires, done.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — direct to a standard ceiling junction box; sits close against the ceiling
  • Dimming — most socketed models dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Ceilings — flat ceilings only; for vaulted or sloped ceilings, look at semi-flush or pendant options instead
  • Power — hardwired to your home's electrical system

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — shut it off at the breaker panel and confirm with a voltage tester.
  2. Remove the fixture cover — twist or unclip the outer shade or base cover to expose the mounting plate and wiring.
  3. Install the mounting bracket — attach it to the ceiling junction box with the supplied screws, secure and level.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the junction box.
  5. Attach the fixture base — lift into place, align with the bracket, and secure with the provided screws so it sits flush against the ceiling.
  6. Reattach the cover — twist, clip, or fasten the decorative cover or diffuser back on.
  7. Restore power and test.

What is the installation process?

The Capillatus Ceiling Light hardwires to a standard ceiling junction box. It is sloped-ceiling compatible. Professional installation by a certified electrician is recommended, particularly for wiring the fan and light controls correctly.

What materials are used in crafting this product?

The housing is acrylic and iron — acrylic for the light-diffusing face, iron for the structural frame. Both materials are chosen for durability and low maintenance under regular use.

How does the smart control feature work?

The Capillatus operates via standard wired controls. For remote or app-based control, contact us at the time of order — compatible smart control configurations are available on request.

Are there any maintenance requirements?

Very little. Wipe the acrylic face with a dry or lightly damp cloth to remove dust. The integrated LED has a 50,000-hour rated life — under normal use, it will not need replacing for many years.

Is this product energy efficient?

Yes. The integrated LED is designed for efficient output across the full disc. The fan motor is also optimised for low energy draw — running both functions simultaneously is less costly than two separate units.

What is the expected lifespan of the LEDs?

50,000 hours. At 8 hours of use per day, that's over 17 years before the LED reaches the end of its rated life — well beyond any standard bulb replacement cycle.

Can it be mounted on both ceiling and wall?

It is designed as a ceiling fixture. A wall-mount option is not standard for this model. Contact us if you have an unusual installation requirement and we'll advise accordingly.

How does it enhance the ambiance of a room?

The even LED disc spreads light uniformly across the room below — no hot spots, no shadows from fan blades. In rooms that get warm, the concealed fan adds airflow without changing the visual character of the ceiling.

Is there a warranty available?

Yes — all Nava Decor fixtures come with a 1-year warranty as standard, extendable to 2, 3, or 5 years. Contact us before purchase to choose the right cover.

How does it differ from traditional fans?

Traditional ceiling fans project blade spans of 90–130 cm and leave the motor housing visible below the ceiling. The Capillatus contains everything behind a circular disc — no blade overhang, no visible mechanism. Functionally equivalent; visually far quieter.
