Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box

What you'll need

Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
Wire nuts (included), ladder
Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
Power on and test.

Follow your local electrical codes.
For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

A slot in the sphere — rotate the whole body

The Phloem's housing has a recessed slot at its equator that acts as a swivel joint. Grip the dome and turn it — the whole body pivots to redirect the beam. No tools, no adjustment mechanism to break. Eight paint finishes are applied over a metal base and fired to resist the heat from extended use.
