Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

Dome outside — reflector inside directing the beam

The Habel reads as a simple dome from the outside — the acrylic-and-aluminium shell is clean and matte-smooth, in one of four solid colours. Inside, the contrasting reflector is the functional component: it catches the E27 bulb and redirects the light downward rather than letting it scatter through the shade. The result is a fixture that looks minimal and puts the light exactly where a dining chair needs it.

How long does shipping take?

Orders are processed within 2–5 business days. Free worldwide shipping takes 15–21 business days from dispatch. You'll receive a tracking number as soon as the order leaves our fulfilment centre.

Is professional installation required?

The Habel hardwires to a ceiling junction box. Professional installation by a certified electrician is recommended — particularly for confirming the drop height above the table before fixing the cord length.

What materials are used in this fixture?

Acrylic shell and aluminium construction. The exterior is glossy acrylic in the chosen finish colour; the inner reflector is aluminium for maximum light redirection down toward the table.

How does the adjustable lighting work?

The cord length is set at installation up to 1.4 m — drop height is chosen at fit-out, not adjusted after. The fixture itself is not dimmable; use a dimmable E27 bulb with a compatible wall dimmer if dimming is needed.

Is the finish durable and easy to clean?

The acrylic shell holds its gloss under indoor conditions. Wipe with a dry or slightly damp soft cloth — avoid abrasive materials and solvents, which scratch acrylic surfaces.

Can this be used in a dining area?

Yes — the 60 cm dome and downward-focused reflector are specifically suited to dining tables and kitchen islands. Hang so the bottom of the shade sits 70–80 cm above the table surface for best light distribution.

How does it enhance room ambiance?

The Habel puts a clean pool of light on the table below and leaves the ceiling and walls relatively dark — drawing attention to the surface and the people around it rather than flooding the room.

Is it suitable for historical homes?

The clean dome form reads in modernist and mid-century interiors. In traditional or heritage homes the orange, red, or black finishes can create an intentional contrast; the white version reads most neutrally.

Does it come with a warranty?

Yes — 1-year Nava warranty against manufacturing defects, extendable to 2, 3, or 5 years. The 14-day return window applies from delivery. Note: the E27 bulb is not included and must be sourced separately.

Are there any maintenance tips?

Wipe the acrylic exterior with a soft dry cloth to remove dust. The inner aluminium reflector can be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth — do not spray liquid into the socket area. Replace the E27 bulb when output dims noticeably.
