Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

LED inside the glass — glow, not glare

The integrated LEDs are mounted within the oval glass shade, not below it. The glass acts as a diffuser: the source disappears and what you see is the material itself lit from within. The steel mesh insets in the frame add an industrial edge that offsets the soft glow.

What is the shipping timeframe?

Nava ships free worldwide. Delivery typically takes 15–21 business days from dispatch. A tracking number is sent once your order has left the warehouse.

Is installation hardware included?

Yes — the Fichtel includes the canopy, ceiling bracket, and all hardware needed to mount it to a standard junction box. A certified electrician should handle the mains connection.

Can this fixture be used with high ceilings?

Yes — the adjustable cord extends to 1.5 m, which gives good reach in rooms with elevated ceilings. For very high ceilings, contact us about extended cord options before ordering.

Is the LED light energy-efficient?

Yes — the integrated LED runs at 15W for 1500 lm output, a solid efficiency ratio. It also produces less heat than equivalent incandescent sources, reducing the load on the fixture over time.

How long do the LEDs last?

The integrated LED is rated for 50,000 hours of operation. At 8 hours of use per day, that's over 17 years before replacement becomes necessary — effectively the lifetime of the fixture in normal residential use.

Is the lamp temperature and fade-resistant?

Yes — the lacquered steel frame and glass shade are both stable under temperature cycling and UV exposure from indoor light sources. The black finish is treated to resist fading under normal indoor conditions.

What materials are used in the fixture?

The frame is lacquered stainless steel with mesh insets; the shade is glass. The combination balances the industrial character of the steel mesh against the softer quality of glass-diffused light.

Are there different light modes available?

Three: warm white for evening and ambient use, cool white for task-oriented spaces, and natural white that sits between the two. The mode is selected at checkout or configured on request.

Is the lamp suitable for dining areas?

Yes — the 25 cm diameter shade is sized for above-table use, and the oval glass gives a focused downward glow that suits dining and kitchen island installations. Position the bottom of the shade 70–80 cm above the table surface for comfortable, glare-free light.

Does the lamp come with a warranty?

Yes — the Fichtel carries a 1-year Nava warranty on manufacturing defects, with extended coverage up to 3 years available on request. A 14-day return window applies if the fixture arrives damaged or not as described.
