Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

The shade is real marble; the fitting, cord, and canopy are metal. The marble is selected for translucence — the way it carries warm light from within rather than simply reflecting it off the surface.

How does the light source operate?

A single replaceable E27 LED bulb sits inside the marble shade. The stone diffuses the glow into a soft, warm wash. The bulb is included and rated for 50,000 hours of use.

Is the installation process complex?

No — the Betel hangs from a standard ceiling junction box with an adjustable cord up to 1.5 m. We recommend a certified electrician for the hardwired connection; after that, setting height is straightforward.

Can it be used in various rooms?

Yes. The ten sizes and three finishes make it adaptable — smaller sizes suit bedside or reading corners, larger sizes anchor dining tables or kitchen islands. All are indoor-rated.

What is the expected lifespan of the light source?

The included LED bulb is rated at 50,000 hours. At four hours of daily use, that's over 34 years before the bulb needs replacing — and when it does, any standard E27 LED fits.

Is it energy efficient?

Yes — 10W producing 1000 lm is an efficient ratio for an ambient pendant. Running costs are low whether the light is on for a few hours an evening or left on for extended periods.

Does it come with installation brackets?

It includes a ceiling canopy and the hardware needed for a standard junction box installation. A certified electrician is recommended for the hardwired connection.

What is the finish of the product?

Three finishes are available: green, white, and gold. The finish applies to the metal fittings and canopy; the marble shade itself varies naturally in colour and veining regardless of the finish chosen.

Is the light warm or cool?
