Installation Guide

A close-to-ceiling install for low-clearance rooms — power off, mount the bracket, match the wires, done.

Before you begin

Mounting — direct to a standard ceiling junction box; sits close against the ceiling
Dimming — most socketed models dim; integrated-LED models don't
Ceilings — flat ceilings only; for vaulted or sloped ceilings, look at semi-flush or pendant options instead
Power — hardwired to your home's electrical system

What you'll need

Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
Wire nuts (included), ladder
Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

Turn off the power — shut it off at the breaker panel and confirm with a voltage tester.
Remove the fixture cover — twist or unclip the outer shade or base cover to expose the mounting plate and wiring.
Install the mounting bracket — attach it to the ceiling junction box with the supplied screws, secure and level.
Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the junction box.
Attach the fixture base — lift into place, align with the bracket, and secure with the provided screws so it sits flush against the ceiling.
Reattach the cover — twist, clip, or fasten the decorative cover or diffuser back on.
Restore power and test.

Copper on the ceiling — warm without the weight

Copper reads warmer than steel and less formal than gold. The acrylic lens sits flush inside the frame, hiding the LED completely so the light appears to come from the disc itself — not from a bulb behind it.

What is the installation process like?

The Bismuth hardwires to a standard ceiling junction box — the included hardware covers most ceiling types. We recommend a certified electrician for the wiring; the physical mount takes under 30 minutes.

What materials are used in construction?

The body is copper, finished in black or gold. The diffuser lens is acrylic — lightweight and shatter-resistant, it spreads the light evenly across the room.

How energy efficient is it?

The integrated LED runs at 12W or 18W depending on size, with a 50,000-hour rated lifespan. Running costs are a fraction of halogen or incandescent alternatives at the same lumen output.

What light modes are available?

The standard Bismuth runs in warm white or cool white — specify at checkout. Dimmable and adjustable-temperature versions are available on request.

Is it suitable for dining rooms and hallways?

Yes — the flush mount and compact height (10 cm) suit both. In dining rooms, the 30 cm size gives enough spread; in a hallway the 15 cm version keeps it proportional without dominating the ceiling.

How long is the LED lifespan?

50,000 hours rated. At 6 hours of use per day, that's over 22 years before the LED reaches end of life — no replacements needed over any normal ownership period.

Does it come with mounting brackets?

Yes — all hardware for a standard ceiling mount is included. The kit covers flat and slightly sloped ceilings without additional parts.

What is the voltage requirement?

90–260V universal input — compatible with North American, European, UK, and Australian mains. No transformer or adapter required.

Can it be both ceiling and wall mounted?

It's designed as a ceiling fixture, but the included brackets can be adapted for a wall mount in some configurations — contact our team before ordering if you need wall installation.

Is it available in different color finishes?

Yes — black and gold. Both use the same copper body; the finish is applied to the frame ring and canopy. The acrylic diffuser face remains the same on both versions.
