Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

Disc spacing — the gap controls the output angle

Each disc in the Antipaxos sits at a measured distance from the one below. The gap width determines the angle at which light escapes — a wider gap spreads it horizontally; a narrower one directs it downward. The current spacing balances both: the room gets ambient fill at the sides while the table below receives adequate task light. The aluminium structural rings hold the spacing consistent without any visible fasteners.

What materials is the Antipaxos Pendant Light made of?

The structural rings are aluminium and the light-diffusing layers are acrylic. Aluminium provides rigidity; acrylic lets light pass through each layer with minimal distortion. The combination keeps the fixture manageable in weight despite its 50 cm diameter.

Is the light dimmable?

Dimming is available on request — specify when ordering. A compatible E27 dimmer switch is required and sold separately. Confirm the dimmer is rated for LED loads before installation.

What type of bulb does this light use?

An E27 base LED bulb, included with the fixture. E27 is one of the most widely available bulb bases — replacements are easy to source if ever needed.

How many bulbs does this fixture require?

One E27 bulb. The 15W LED delivers 1,500 lumens — adequate for dining areas and kitchen islands up to roughly 12 m².

What is the voltage compatibility of this light?

The Antipaxos accepts a wide 90–260V range, so it works with standard household electrical in most countries without a converter. If you're outside our usual markets, tell us and we'll confirm compatibility before shipping.

In which spaces can this light be installed?

Dining rooms, kitchens, living areas, and home offices. The 50 cm diameter makes it a natural centrepiece above a round or rectangular table.

What color options are available?

Four: matte black, white, grey, and gold. The disc layering reads the same in each finish — the colour changes how the fixture sits within the room's palette.

Does the light produce glare?

No visible hotspot — light exits through the disc gaps before reaching eye level, spreading horizontally first. The result is soft ambient diffusion rather than a direct downward beam.

Can this fixture be installed on sloped ceilings?

Yes — the canopy accommodates sloped ceiling surfaces. The pendant hangs vertically regardless of the ceiling angle, so the disc layers remain level.

How do I maintain and clean this light?

Turn off and allow to cool before cleaning. Wipe the aluminium rings with a soft dry cloth and the acrylic layers with a slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive pads — they scratch the acrylic and reduce its clarity over time.
