Installation Guide

A close-to-ceiling install for low-clearance rooms — power off, mount the bracket, match the wires, done.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — direct to a standard ceiling junction box; sits close against the ceiling
  • Dimming — most socketed models dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Ceilings — flat ceilings only; for vaulted or sloped ceilings, look at semi-flush or pendant options instead
  • Power — hardwired to your home's electrical system

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — shut it off at the breaker panel and confirm with a voltage tester.
  2. Remove the fixture cover — twist or unclip the outer shade or base cover to expose the mounting plate and wiring.
  3. Install the mounting bracket — attach it to the ceiling junction box with the supplied screws, secure and level.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the junction box.
  5. Attach the fixture base — lift into place, align with the bracket, and secure with the provided screws so it sits flush against the ceiling.
  6. Reattach the cover — twist, clip, or fasten the decorative cover or diffuser back on.
  7. Restore power and test.

Glass petals — each face catches the light differently

Each petal of the Etesian is an individual glass form, not a pressed flat panel. The facets and curves catch light from the E14 source at different angles, so the shade reads as a composition of smaller lit forms rather than one uniform disc. The metal fitting holds them in a fixed cluster — compact, considered, and appropriate for rooms that want more than a plain ceiling round.

What is the installation process like?

The Etesian mounts to a standard ceiling junction box via the included hardware. Hardwired installation by a certified electrician is recommended. It is sloped-ceiling compatible — the mount adjusts to sit level on an angled surface.

What type of lighting does it use?

An E14 base accepts a standard LED bulb. Note that the bulb is not included — purchase any E14 LED at checkout or from a local hardware store. 10W (1000 lm) is the recommended rating.

How long do the LEDs last?

An E14 LED bulb is rated at 50,000 hours under standard use — roughly 17 years at 8 hours a day. Because the bulb is replaceable, you're not replacing the whole fixture when it eventually dims.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

No — the Etesian is an indoor fixture and is not IP-rated for moisture or weather exposure. It suits covered balconies that are fully protected from rain.

What voltage does it operate on?

90–260VAC — compatible with household current in most countries. No transformer or adapter needed.

Can it be mounted on walls?

The Etesian is designed for ceiling installation only. The petal forms are oriented to hang downward from the ceiling; wall mounting would rotate the composition in an unintended direction.

Is it dimmable?

The standard configuration is not dimmable. If you need dimming, use a dimmable E14 LED bulb with a compatible wall dimmer — functionality depends on your wall switch setup.

What rooms is it best suited for?

Bedrooms, kitchens, dining areas, covered balconies, and hallways. The compact 24 cm footprint fits rooms where a large ceiling fixture would feel out of proportion.

Does it come with all necessary mounting hardware?

Yes — mounting plate and ceiling hardware are included. The E14 bulb is not included and must be purchased separately.

How do I clean and maintain it?

Dust the glass petals periodically with a soft dry cloth. Avoid wet cleaning directly on the glass while the fixture is powered. The metal fitting can be wiped with a slightly damp cloth.
