Installation Guide

A close-to-ceiling install for low-clearance rooms — power off, mount the bracket, match the wires, done.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — direct to a standard ceiling junction box; sits close against the ceiling
  • Dimming — most socketed models dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Ceilings — flat ceilings only; for vaulted or sloped ceilings, look at semi-flush or pendant options instead
  • Power — hardwired to your home's electrical system

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — shut it off at the breaker panel and confirm with a voltage tester.
  2. Remove the fixture cover — twist or unclip the outer shade or base cover to expose the mounting plate and wiring.
  3. Install the mounting bracket — attach it to the ceiling junction box with the supplied screws, secure and level.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the junction box.
  5. Attach the fixture base — lift into place, align with the bracket, and secure with the provided screws so it sits flush against the ceiling.
  6. Reattach the cover — twist, clip, or fasten the decorative cover or diffuser back on.
  7. Restore power and test.

Does it come with a remote control?

Yes. The Cove ships with a remote that handles on/off, dimming (when configured), colour temperature selection, and mode switching between white and trichromatic output. All functions are wireless and operable from across a standard room.

What are the available light modes?

The Cove offers two distinct modes: white mode cycles through selectable colour temperatures for precise ambient control, while trichromatic mode enables full-colour output across a wide spectrum. Both modes are accessible from the included remote.

How long is the LED lifespan?

The integrated LED array is rated to 50,000 hours. At eight hours of daily use that equates to more than 17 years of operation — making the Cove a genuinely long-term installation rather than a fixture requiring periodic bulb replacement.

Is the installation process complicated?

No. The Cove mounts to a standard ceiling electrical box using the included bracket and canopy. Sloped ceiling compatibility is built into the hardware, so no adaptor is required for pitched or angled ceilings up to standard pitch.

Does it include all necessary mounting hardware?

Yes. All mounting hardware required for a standard ceiling or wall installation is included in the box. For sloped ceiling applications the same canopy accommodates the angle without additional parts.

Can it be wall-mounted as well?

Yes. The Cove's canopy bracket supports both ceiling and wall mounting. The same hardware included in the box enables both orientations, making it a versatile option for rooms where a ceiling box is not conveniently positioned.
