Installation Guide

A close-to-ceiling install for low-clearance rooms — power off, mount the bracket, match the wires, done.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — direct to a standard ceiling junction box; sits close against the ceiling
  • Dimming — most socketed models dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Ceilings — flat ceilings only; for vaulted or sloped ceilings, look at semi-flush or pendant options instead
  • Power — hardwired to your home's electrical system

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — shut it off at the breaker panel and confirm with a voltage tester.
  2. Remove the fixture cover — twist or unclip the outer shade or base cover to expose the mounting plate and wiring.
  3. Install the mounting bracket — attach it to the ceiling junction box with the supplied screws, secure and level.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the junction box.
  5. Attach the fixture base — lift into place, align with the bracket, and secure with the provided screws so it sits flush against the ceiling.
  6. Reattach the cover — twist, clip, or fasten the decorative cover or diffuser back on.
  7. Restore power and test.

The frame is aluminium, finished in black, gold, or white. The diffuser panel beneath is acrylic — it smooths the LED output into an even wash while the aluminium layers cast shadow structure above.

Does it come with a warranty?

Yes — the Bora comes with a 1-year warranty, extendable to 2 or 3 years. Contact us any time if something isn't right and we'll make it good.

Is professional installation required or can I do it myself?

The Bora is hardwired, so a certified electrician is recommended for the electrical connection. The fixture itself mounts to a standard junction box with the included hardware — the physical installation is straightforward.

How do I adjust the light intensity?

Dimming is optional — let us know when ordering and we'll configure it. Once set up for dimming, it works with most standard wall-mounted LED dimmers.

What is the expected lifespan of the LEDs?

The integrated LED is rated to 50,000+ hours of operating life. At five hours a day, that's over 27 years before any decline in output — and the LED is part of the fixture, not a replaceable bulb.

Is the Bora Ceiling Light dimmable?

Yes, optionally — dimming is configured to order. If you'd like dimmer compatibility, mention it when you place the order and we'll set the fixture up accordingly before it ships.

Are the mounting brackets included?

Yes — the ceiling canopy and all mounting hardware are in the box. The Bora is sloped-ceiling compatible, so it installs cleanly on angled ceilings as well as flat ones.

How energy-efficient is it?

The integrated LED is highly efficient for the light output it provides — and with a 50,000-hour lifespan, there's no ongoing cost from bulb replacements. Exact wattage varies by size; contact us for specifics.

Can it be used in damp environments?

The Bora is designed for dry indoor spaces — living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, and kitchens. It is not rated for bathrooms or outdoor use.

What is the return policy?
