Installation Guide

Most wall lamps are a simple bracket-and-wire job — but check your power type first, since hardwired, plug-in, and rechargeable models each install a little differently.

Before you begin

  • Dimming — most socketed lamps dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Power — hardwired, plug-in, or rechargeable depending on the model; check your product details
  • Mounting — wall-mount, hardware included
  • Indoor/outdoor — confirm your model is rated for outdoor use before installing outside

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver
  • Wire nuts (included for hardwired models)
  • Voltage tester
  • Power drill (for new mounting locations)

Step by step

  1. Identify your power type — hardwired, plug-in, or rechargeable. Follow the steps below for yours.
  2. If hardwired: turn off the power — switch off at your main electrical panel and confirm with a voltage tester.
  3. If hardwired: remove the old lamp — unscrew it and disconnect the wires by removing the wire nuts.
  4. If hardwired: attach the new mounting bracket — align it with your junction box or marked wall location and secure with the included screws.
  5. If hardwired: connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Twist and secure with wire nuts, then tuck neatly into the junction box.
  6. If hardwired: mount the fixture — align with the bracket and secure with the provided screws.
  7. If hardwired: install the bulb — correct type and wattage, if your model uses one.
  8. If hardwired: restore power and test.
  9. If plug-in: mount the bracket — with anchors or screws, then attach the fixture and plug it into a nearby outlet. Route the cord neatly.
  10. If rechargeable: mount the bracket — with screws and anchors, fully charge the lamp with the included cable, then install it onto the bracket and power on.

The Ashlar shade is formed with bubbles during the glassmaking process — each one slightly irregular, each refracting the G9 differently. In green, the light takes a warm amber cast; in smoky grey, it diffuses toward neutral; in clear, it stays close to the bulb's natural tone. No two shades produce exactly the same glow.

What is the shipping timeframe?

The Ashlar ships free worldwide. Delivery takes approximately 15–21 business days. A tracking number is sent once your order dispatches.

Is installation hardware included?

Yes — wall mounting brackets and fixing hardware are included. Professional installation by a licensed electrician is recommended, as the Ashlar is hardwired to your wall circuit.

Is the lamp compatible with dimmer switches?

Dimming is available upon request. Specify this at checkout. A dimmer switch compatible with G9 LED bulbs is required on your wall circuit.

How do I clean and maintain the lamp?

Wipe the aluminium arm with a dry or lightly damp cloth. For the glass shade, a soft dry cloth removes dust; for smudges, a glass-safe cleaner on a cloth works without damaging the bubbled surface texture. Avoid abrasive cleaners.

Is the lamp energy-efficient?

Yes. The Ashlar draws 5W for 500lm — broadly equivalent to a 40W incandescent at a fraction of the energy. The G9 LED is rated for 50,000 hours of operating life.

What materials are used in the lamp construction?

The arm and mounting bracket are bent aluminium — corrosion-resistant and scratch-resistant in normal indoor conditions. The shade is glass, textured with bubbles formed during manufacture. Together they handle everyday use in any dry indoor space.

Does the lamp come with a warranty?

Yes — the Ashlar comes with a 1-year warranty as standard, extendable to 2, 3, or 5 years. Contact us for extended warranty options before or after purchase.

How durable is the lamp's finish?

The Brass and Black finishes are applied to the aluminium arm and are scratch and corrosion resistant in normal indoor conditions. They are not expected to fade, chip, or peel under regular use.

Is the lamp suitable for outdoor use?

No. The Ashlar is designed for dry indoor use only — not rated for outdoor environments, covered patios, or high-humidity rooms such as saunas or laundry areas.

What is the return policy?
