Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

The shade is textured glass in a frosted finish; the canopy, cord fitting, and cap are copper with a gold finish. Both materials are chosen to age cleanly without special maintenance.

How long does installation typically take?

For a single pendant, a qualified electrician can typically complete the installation in under an hour — mounting the canopy to a standard junction box, running the cord, and fitting the shade.

Is professional installation recommended?

Yes. As a hardwired fixture, it connects to mains wiring, so a certified electrician is recommended. The process itself is straightforward once the ceiling is prepped.

What is the return policy?

Nava Decor offers a 14-day return window from delivery. Items must be in original, undamaged condition. Contact us within that window and we'll arrange collection.

Are there any warranties included?

Yes — all Nava Decor fixtures come with a 1-year warranty as standard, extendable to 2, 3, or 5 years. The warranty covers manufacturing defects; contact us to extend.

How do I clean and maintain it?

Wipe the glass with a soft, dry or lightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, which can dull the textured surface. The copper fitting needs only occasional dry buffing to stay bright.

Is it compatible with dimmer switches?

Dimming is available on request — specify at checkout and we'll configure the fitting accordingly. Standard orders ship as non-dimmable unless noted.

What type of bulbs does it use?

E27 LED — a widely available base. One bulb is included. Choose a warm-white (2700–3000K) for a soft, amber-toned glow through the frosted glass.

Can it be used in damp areas?

The Flare is rated for standard indoor use. It is not recommended for bathrooms, laundry rooms, or other damp environments unless a specific IP-rated version is confirmed at the time of order.

How energy-efficient is it?

The included E27 LED draws 15W and outputs 1500 lm. Compared to an equivalent incandescent, it uses roughly 85% less energy and is rated for 50,000+ hours — so the bulb rarely needs replacing.
