Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

A concrete body paired with a glass top, on a metal canopy. The combination gives a surface that is matte and textural on the body, reflective above.

How long is the adjustable wire?

Up to 1.2 m — adjust it at install to find the right hang depth for your space and ceiling height.

Are the LEDs energy-efficient?

Yes — the included G9 LED runs at 5W for 500 lm, a fraction of the draw of a comparable incandescent.

Is the light temperature adjustable?

The colour temperature is fixed on the standard bulb. For adjustable warmth, select the dimmable option when ordering the Siding Pendant Light.

How do I clean and maintain it?

Wipe the concrete body with a dry or barely damp cloth. The glass top takes a light glass cleaner. Avoid soaking either surface.

Is this fixture suitable for high ceilings?

The cord adjusts to 1.2 m, so it suits standard to moderately high ceilings. For very high rooms, contact us about a longer cord.

Can it be used in damp areas like bathrooms?

The Siding Pendant Light is not rated for wet or damp locations. It is suitable for dry interior spaces only.

How long is the LED lifespan?

The included LED is rated to 50,000 hours — well over a decade of typical daily use before replacement.
