Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

The Tholen's iron frame is precision-cut so each glass and crystal piece sits at a fixed angle. Unlike a shade-based chandelier, there is no dominant diffusion surface — the light spreads from each point individually, creating a layered wash across the ceiling and walls. What materials are used in the Tholen Chandelier?

Iron frame, glass pieces, and crystal elements. The iron provides the structural form; glass and crystal are set individually into the frame at fixed angles to catch and scatter light across the room.

What sizes are available?

Three: 10-light (60 cm across), 12-light (80 cm), and 18-light (100 cm). All three share the same 45 cm height and the same glass-and-crystal composition — scale is the only difference.

Do I need to supply the bulbs?

Yes — the Tholen Chandelier does not include bulbs. It takes standard E14 LED bulbs, available widely. Choose a warm white (2700–3000K) for the most natural result with the crystal.

What finish options are available?

Clear and gold. Clear reads neutral and suits cool or contemporary rooms; gold reads warmer and suits dining rooms and traditional spaces where a warmer tone is welcome.

Can the E14 bulbs be replaced?

Yes — each E14 socket accepts a standard replacement bulb. The Tholen Chandelier uses widely available E14 LEDs, so replacements are easy to source locally or online.

Is the Tholen Chandelier dimmable?

The standard configuration is not dimmable. If dimming is important, use dimmable E14 LED bulbs paired with a compatible wall dimmer — contact Nava Decor to confirm compatibility.

What rooms suit the Tholen Chandelier best?

Dining rooms, living rooms, and entry halls with flat or moderately high ceilings. The 18-light (100 cm) suits rooms of 25 m² or more; the 10-light works in smaller spaces or as a bedroom accent.

How does it install?

Pipe-erected ceiling mount to a standard junction box. The pipe is fixed at up to 30 cm drop. All mounting hardware is included; professional installation by a certified electrician is recommended.

Is it suitable for sloped ceilings?

Sloped-ceiling compatibility is available on request — specify at checkout and the Tholen will be configured accordingly.
