Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

The frame is copper with a brass finish, the diffuser elements are acrylic. The brass-finished bird perch is cast separately and mounted to the copper frame — durable and fade-resistant.

How do I install it?

The Coin mounts to a standard ceiling junction box — all hardware is included. Installation by a certified electrician is recommended; full instructions are provided in the box.

Is it suitable for high ceilings?

Yes — the cord adjusts to 1.5 m (4.9 ft), giving enough drop for rooms with standard and taller ceilings. The sloped-ceiling bracket is included for angled installations.

Can I adjust the height?

Yes — the cord is adjustable up to 1.5 m. Any excess cord can be managed neatly inside the canopy during installation.

What type of light bulbs does it use?

The Coin uses integrated LED — no separate bulb to purchase or fit. The LED is built into the fixture and rated at 50,000 hours of operation.

Is the lighting color adjustable?

Yes — the integrated LED offers three colour options: warm white, neutral white, and cool white. Select the mode using the inline switch on the cord.

How energy-efficient is it?

The integrated LED draws 20W (1-head), 40W (2-head), or 60W (3-head) — significantly less than equivalent incandescent output. The 50,000-hour lifespan also eliminates replacement costs for years.

How long does it last?

The integrated LED is rated at 50,000 hours — roughly 17 years at eight hours per day. The copper and brass frame is built to outlast the LED with normal care.

Is it resistant to temperature changes?

Yes — the copper frame and acrylic elements are both temperature and fade-resistant, holding their finish and form in typical residential environments.

Does it come with a mounting bracket?

Yes — the Coin includes a ceiling canopy, mounting bracket, junction box, and all required hardware. The 1 and 2-head versions use a rectangular canopy; the 3-head uses a round canopy.
