Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

What materials are used in the construction?

The frame and arms are aluminium — lightweight and corrosion-resistant. The shades are glass, with a finish in black or gold that is both temperature-stable and scratch-resistant.

How do I install it?

The Bow is pipe-erected to a standard ceiling junction box. The drop is up to 50 cm via the included pipe. A certified electrician is recommended for the hardwired electrical connection.

What is the expected lifespan of the LEDs?

Each G9 LED is rated to 50,000 hours. At four hours of daily use, that's over 34 years — and when one eventually needs replacing, it's a standard G9 socket, easy to source anywhere.

Is it suitable for high ceilings?

The pipe drop is up to 50 cm, which works well on standard to mid-height ceilings. For high ceilings where you need more drop, contact us about extended pipe options before ordering.

Does it come with mounting hardware?

Yes — the ceiling canopy, pipe, and all required hardware are included. The Bow mounts to a standard 10 cm junction box; sloped-ceiling installation is available on request.

How does it resist corrosion and scratches?

The aluminium is finished with a corrosion-resistant coating that also resists surface scratching from regular cleaning. It's designed for daily indoor conditions and requires only occasional dusting.

What type of lighting ambiance does it create?

Each glass head diffuses its G9 LED into a soft, even point of light — comfortable to sit under without glare. At full size (18 heads), the combined 90W output covers a large dining room or living space.

Can it be used in outdoor spaces?

No — the Bow is designed for dry indoor use. It is not rated for outdoor or damp environments such as covered patios or bathrooms.

Is it compatible with dimmer switches?

Dimming is not standard on this fixture. The G9 LEDs are replaceable with dimmable variants — contact us before ordering if dimming is important and we'll advise on the best configuration.

What voltage does it operate on?

The Bow runs on 90–260V AC, covering all standard residential voltages worldwide. No adaptor or converter needed regardless of your location.
