Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

Living rooms, dining rooms, entryways, and high-ceiling spaces. The 40 cm version suits smaller dining tables; the 140–180 cm versions are appropriate for grand hallways or open-plan living areas.

What materials is the Vrigsted Chandelier made from?

The rings are aluminium extrusion — lightweight and dimensionally stable under heat. The diffuser panels are acrylic, bonded flush along the inner ring edge so the glow reads seamless.

Does the chandelier come with built-in lighting?

Yes — the LED is integrated into the ring structure. There are no separate bulbs to fit or replace. The driver is housed in the canopy and the LED is rated for 50,000+ hours.

Is the height adjustable?

Yes — the cord adjusts to 1.2 m from the ceiling. For very high ceilings, contact us before ordering and we can supply an extended cord to the length you need.

What type of lighting does it provide?

Even, diffused ambient light — the acrylic panel spreads the LED so the rings glow uniformly with no hotspots. It is not a task light; it is best used as the primary ambient source in a room with good natural light during the day.

Is it suitable for high ceilings?

Yes — the 140 and 180 cm versions are proportioned for double-height spaces. The cord extends to 1.2 m as standard; longer drops available on request. Sloped-ceiling compatibility is also available on request.

Does it support dimmable functionality?

Yes, on request — specify at checkout and we configure the driver before shipping. Compatible with standard trailing-edge dimmers once set up. Not dimmable as standard.

Is it energy-efficient?

Yes — integrated LEDs across all six sizes run from 26W to 110W, producing 2860–12100 lm. Compared to equivalent-output incandescent sources, the Vrigsted uses roughly 80% less energy.

Is installation complicated?
