Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

Is installation hardware included?

Yes — the Vignette ships with all mounting hardware. It fits a standard ceiling junction box with an adjustable cord up to 1.2 m. We recommend a certified electrician for hardwired installation.

How do I clean and maintain it?

Dust the Vignette gently with a soft dry brush or cloth. Avoid water or cleaning products on the rattan, as moisture can cause the fibres to warp or discolour over time.

Is the light bulb included?

Yes — a warm white LED bulb is included. It fits an E27 base, so you can replace it with any standard E27 bulb in your preferred colour temperature.

Can it be used with a dimmer switch?

Dimming is available on request. The Vignette uses a standard E27 bulb, so it can also be paired with a dimmable bulb on an existing dimmer circuit — check bulb compatibility first.

What type of light bulb is compatible?

Any standard E27 bulb up to 15W. LED bulbs are recommended for efficiency and longevity. The included warm white bulb is a good starting point.

Is it suitable for sloped ceilings?

Yes — the Vignette is sloped-ceiling compatible. The adjustable cord lets you set the correct drop for angled ceilings without any additional hardware.

What is the warranty period?

The Vignette comes with a 1-year warranty. This can be extended to 2 or 3 years on request. Contact us after purchase for extended coverage options.

Is it made from sustainable materials?

The Vignette uses natural rattan and wood — both renewable, biodegradable materials. The black metal hardware is the only non-natural component.
